As a senior leader on Whole Foods Market’s Human Resources team, Michael Maney is responsible for the company’s efforts to create a compelling and holistic experience for more than 95,0000 Team Members worldwide. Prior to this, Michael led internal communications for Target, and was in the entertainment industry for 15 years leading communications for Sony and Disney’s television businesses. Michael serves as vice chair of the Board of Trustees of Scholarship America, which works directly with students, parents, colleges, businesses and communities to help students fulfill their college dreams. He also serves on the Board of Visitors of his alma mater, Berry College, and is a founding member of the Leadership Communications Council for the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
Courtney Richardson
Chief People & Community Officer, Shipt
Courtney Richardson is the Chief People and Community Officer at Shipt, a leading same-day delivery service. She leads Shipt’s core human resources function with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Courtney’s team also leads the company’s giving and economic development efforts to make a nationwide impact, including work to increase economic mobility, decrease food insecurity, and support needs in the communities Shipt serves.
A purpose-driven and caring leader, Courtney has an extensive background in human resources and non-profit leadership, which has influenced her passion for helping manifest meaningful career and life experiences for all people. She joined Shipt in early 2021 following a nearly 17-year tenure at Target where she worked in various leadership roles, most recently as a Vice President of Human Resources. She is a two-time graduate of the University of San Diego with a bachelor's degree in communications and a master’s degree in leadership studies.

Malaika Marable Serrano is the VP for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Guild and leads the integration of DEI principles and best practices across the organization. Most recently, she was the inaugural Head of DEI at WorldStrides and has served in a number of leadership and faculty roles in academic and non-profit spaces. Living abroad in Latin America and Australia greatly shaped her ability to foster productive, engaging, and culturally responsive learning environments. She finds joy in volunteering with women’s leadership groups, regularly presents at conferences, and has published a number of DEI-related articles and book chapters.

While his experience touches all areas of reward, his areas of expertise are rewards, global governance, management, strategic planning, and administration. He has a proven track record of developing and executing strategy on a global level for rewards management. This expertise is further enhanced with his MBA from UCLA Anderson and renowned professional certifications, including Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
